Pablo The Mountain Pygmy Possum  is a very special creature created for The National Trust by Mulga The Artist. Pablo is one of the Australian animals who was thought to be extinct yet has been rediscovered alive and hence has become one of the group of "Lazarus Species".

This  print window featuring Pablo The Mountain Pygmy Possum measures: 19 cm x 25 cm

The overall size including white matt board measures:28 cm x 36 cm.

Pablo is now one of our National Trust Mascots and his story is told here by Mulga The Artist

You will also find his story on the reverse of the print.

"Some peeps discovered the skeletal remains of Pablo's ancestors in a cave in Wombeyan in 1895, the year Waltzing Matilda was first performed.
Everyone thought his species was extinct but it wasn't until 1966 that someone saw Pablo having a ski at Mount Hotham ski resort. Turns out him and his crew were mad for skiing and they had been skiing the back country for all those years.
They only liked to ski on virginal powder runs and thus hadn't bumped into any human homies ever until then.
When they first met some humans they got on really well and had a party and had Bogong moth sliders because Pygmy Possum's love to chow down on a Bogong moth".
