Product Description

Good Condition.

An exhibition of paintings and supporting sketches from the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries selected from the collections of the Musée du Lourve and forty-seven other French museums. The exhibition is presented in Australia by the Australian Gallery Directors Council, a non-profit organisation, whose members are directors of Australian public galleries and art museums, which organises a programme of touring exhibitions in Australia and abroad.

The exhibition has been especially prepared and assembled for Australia by the Musée du Lourve which has been responsible for the necessary research, selection and curatorial supervision.

The theme of France and the Revolutionary period, one that has been vividly recorded in paintings and drawings, forms the basis to the composition of this exhibition. Owing to the generosity and assistance of the French authorities, we are being afforded the opportunity of seeing major French works which have been selected not only for their significance in reflecting the hopes, passions, and despair of a Revolutionary Age.

Thanks to your support we can continue our mission to actively conserve and protect our natural, cultural, social and Indigenous heritage for future generations to enjoy.
